Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, document, test and deploy software and web-based data management applications
  • Collaborate on all stages of software development from design to implementation
  • Create or contribute to specifications for application design and functionality
  • Develop and maintain application and user documentation
  • Provide support and training to customers
  • Work with others on the Engineering team to test and document product features and to diagnose/correct product issues

Technical Qualifications and Experience:

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Math, or Engineering
  • 2-3 years of professional experience with a strong understanding of Java and JSP
  • A passion for coding and a desire for both teaching and learning
  • Strong SQL scripting skills
  • Experience with Struts and JPA is a plus
  • Knowledge of logic programming, artificial intelligence, knowledge discovery, data mining, data analysis, natural language systems, or the semantic web is a plus
  • Experience with Prolog or another logic programming language is a plus
  • Knowledge of and experience with Agile Software Development is a plus
